Under the project: “ Non Invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) for hemoglobinopathies by a targeted next-generation sequencing assay” at ICMR-NIIH, Mumbai.
Job Title: Project Scientist II (Non Medical)
No. of Vacancy: 1
Emoluments: Rs. 67,000 per month + 27% HRA
Essential Qualification:
- 1st First Class Post Graduate degree including the integrated PG degrees with three years experience or Ph.D.in Applied Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Life Sciences , Microbiology.
- Second class post graduate degree including the integrated PG degrees , Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Life Science with Ph.D. and three years experience.(Applied Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Life Sciences, Microbiology.)
Desirable Qualification: Experience in biochemistry and or molecular Biology with special interest to
NGS.
Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years
Duration: One year (likely to be extended, project duration 3 years)
Procedure for Recruitment:
- Candidates meeting the age criteria and possessing the required qualifications and experience can fill the Application Form through the online application portal. The link will be disabled after February 11, 2024.
- The list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the ICMR-NIIH website. Further information regarding the date, time, and link for the interview will be updated on the website.
- Shortlisted candidates must arrange for video call/video-conferencing facilities for the online interviews. The interview link will be sent to the selected candidates.
- Selected candidates will be informed via email/phone and must bring all the necessary documents in original for verification during the appointment.
Terms and Conditions:
- Age relaxation for SC/OBC/PWD and experienced candidates will be as per the rules.
- The positions are on a temporary contract basis.
- The Director & Appointing Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason(s).
- Age, qualifications, etc. will be considered as of the date of the written test/interview.
- The appointment can be terminated with one month’s notice from either side without any reason.
- The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment at NIIH or continuation of their services in any other project.
- Other allowances like CCA, LTC, Medical Claim, and PF are not applicable.
- The recruited project staff is eligible for leave as per project recruitment rules and will need to provide an undertaking before joining.
- Candidates must bring all original certificates, experience documents, Aadhaar card, community and PH certificates (if applicable), and passport-size photographs, along with attested photocopies, for verification during the joining.
- The conditions of employment will be the same as that of project staff on a contract basis.
