Applications are invited to attend Online Interview for Unreserved Temporary Posts of two SRFs and one JRF under the ongoing externally project funded by National Agriculture Science Fund, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and DSTSERB, Government of India.

The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project end date.

Post I

Name of the Post: SRF

Name of the Project: ICAR-NASF Research Project on “CRISPR Crop Network: Targeted
Improvement of Stress Tolerance, Nutritional Quality and Yield of Crops by using Genome Editing”

Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in relevant subjects (Plant Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/Life sciences/ Microbiology) with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates having Postgraduate degree in basic Sciences with 3 years of
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years masters degree should have NET qualification and 2 years of research experience as

mentioned in OM No Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, OM No Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated, 30th January 2019 for eligibility.

Desirable qualifications: Agrobacterium mediate genetic transformation of rice/soybean/ mustard, genome editing of plants, molecular cloning, Molecular analysis of transgenic plants and other basic molecular techniques.

Fellowship/monthly Salary: Rs 31000 + HRA*

Name of the Project: DST-SERB, Government of India on “Improvement in grain yield and lodging stress tolerance of Black Rice cultivar Chakhao amubi by CRISPR/Cas9 mediated genome editing

Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in relevant subjects (Plant Biotechnology/ Plant Physiology/ Plant Biochemistry/Life sciences/ Microbiology) with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates having Postgraduate degree in basic Sciences with 3 years of
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years masters degree should have NET qualification and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OM No Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13th July, 2015, OM No Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 2015 of the Council and OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated, 30th January 2019 for eligibility.

The House Rent Allowances (HRA) will be provided at the prevailing Central Government rates applicable in various cities/locations where SRF/RA are working in ICAR funded projects.

  • Age limit: Maximum 35 years for men for SRF/JRF positions. For women/SC/ST/OBC, an age relaxation of 5 years will be granted as per Govt. of India/ICAR rules.
  • No Objection Certificate from the current employer is required, if working.
  • Bio-data as per the format given in Annexure 1 should be submitted along with self-attested copies of 10th, 12th, Under-graduation, post-graduation, Ph.D., and NET/GATE, and other certificates required. Affix an attested recent passport size photograph in the Bio-data. The bio-data should contain Academic qualifications starting from 10th Standard to the maximum qualification with % marks obtained, distinction/medal if any. This is required for the calculation of the academic score. If the candidates do not fill in the marks and relevant attested certificates, the academic score will not be awarded.
  • Candidate should submit office orders for research experience, in addition to the certificate from the PIs, wherever applicable.
  • Candidate should bring project work report/thesis, testimonials/experience certificates, published research papers, etc., to support their claim on experience.
  • The above posts are purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for an initial period of six months or project duration, whichever is earlier. The tenure may be extended based on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent. There is no provision of reengagement after termination of the scheme. Selected candidates shall not claim regular appointment at this institute as the fellowship is co-terminus with the respective scheme.
  • If the performance of the SRF/JRF is non-satisfactory, he/she will be terminated from the post with one-month notice.
