We are currently seeking a dedicated Food Technologist to join our in-house Research and Development (R&D) team. As a Food Technologist, you will play a vital role in developing new products, ensuring product compliance with regulations, and improving existing recipes. This position requires expertise in food technology, knowledge of FSSAI rules and regulations, and a passion for creating innovative food products.

Job Description

  • Responsible for new product development and conducting trials to match quality, health, and sensory parameters as per customer requirements.
  • Must have knowledge of FSSAI rules and regulations, capable of label validation, and ensuring product compliance based on FSSAI and legal metrology of food products.
  • Conduct lab scale and pilot scale trials of new products and conduct shelf-life studies.
  • Study new products, identify market requirements, and develop products accordingly.
  • Improve existing recipes, generate new product ideas and recipes, test and examine samples, write reports, and ensure compliance.
  • Evaluate and apply new ingredients (color, flavor, starch, etc.) based on their function.
  • Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished goods.
  • Contribute to cost reduction through better sourcing of ingredients and ingredient substitution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project managers to define project scope and criteria, understand technical problems, and leverage past learnings.
  • Actively share knowledge and build technical skills by attending conferences and seminars and sharing findings with the team.

Skills and Requirements

  • B.Tech. / M.Tech. / M.Sc. in Food Technology or Food Science.
  • 1.5-2 years of experience in the food industry, with expertise in new product development and FSSAI regulations.
  • A genuine interest in science and its application to food and related industries.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a result-driven approach.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
