WALK-IN-WRITTEN TEST/INTERVIEW
(Employment Notification)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts under the project entitled “National Reference Laboratory (NRL)” a long term project under National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP)” at the Institute. The interview will be held on 3rd March, 2023 (Friday) at ICMR-National JALMA Institute for Leprosy and Other Mycobacterial Diseases, Dr. M. Miyazaki Marg, PO Box 101, Tajganj, Agra-282001, Uttar Pradesh, India. Applications will be received from the individuals by hand on the date of walk-in-interview between 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. No application will be entertained after 11:00 A.M. The candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications (from SSC onwards), experience, Aadhaar Card, caste and PH certificates along with a set of photocopies of the same duly attested (can be self-attested) along with a recent passport-size photograph for attending the walk-in-interview. Name of the position – Consultant Microbiologist – NRL
No. of vacancies – 01 (Reserved for UR )
Age limit – Maximum 65 years.
Place of Work – ICMR-NJIL&OMD, Agra
Tenure – The initial contract will be for a period of one year from the date of appointment and may be extended for another year based on the performance evaluation report and the need of the project.
Leave benefits – As applicable as per ICMR rule prevailing
Syllabus for Written Test / Interview – Questions shall be pertaining to –
- General Knowledge – Current affairs of India and the Globe.
- National TB Elimination Programme
- Post-Graduate degree level of subjects desired in essential qualification
- Laboratory Science pertaining to Mycobacteriology especially TB Diagnostics
- Marks would also be given for project grants received, publications, awards, and any work of public health importance.
Consolidated emoluments – Rs. 65,000/- P.M. fixed without any other allowances at present
Essential qualification –
- M.D. Microbiology and Three years of work experience in Bacteriology
or - Ph.D. Medical Microbiology /Applied Microbiology / General Microbiology or related field and Three years of work experience in Bacteriology
or - M.Sc. Medical Microbiology /Applied Microbiology / General Microbiology and Five years of work experience in Bacteriology
Nature of duties – To undertake On-Site Evaluations for External Quality Assurance and to provide support in planning, and scaling up of quality assured IRLs & C-DST- Labs in States and as per NTEP’s needs which requires frequent travel. The candidates may note that the positions would require a minimum of 15 days of travel per month. Those who are not willing / have any kind of issue with travelling may not apply.

Essential qualification –
- M.Sc. Medical Microbiology/ Applied Microbiology/ General Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry with or without DMLT and three years of work experience in TB Bacteriology
or - B.Sc. Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry/ Life Science with or without DMLT and five years of work experience in TB Bacteriology.

- The number of positions may vary.
- These positions are meant for temporary projects and co-terminus with the project.
- Engagement in the above advertised Project Human Resource Positions will depend upon the availability of funds, functional requirements and approval of the Competent Authority. Therefore, we are not committed to filling up all the advertised Project Human Resource Positions and the process is liable to be withdrawn/cancelled/modified at any time.
- The rates of emoluments/stipend shown in this advertisement are project specific and may vary according to the sanction of the funding agency of the Project.
- The cut-off date for the age limit will be as the date of the last date for the submission of applications.
- Age relaxation will be as per the guidelines of the Govt. of India.
- Qualification & experience should be in a relevant discipline/field and from an Institution of repute. Experience should have been gained after acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
- Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee the selection.
- Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/Organizations are not eligible to apply.
- No TA/DA will be paid to attend interview/personal discussion and candidates have to arrange transport/accommodation themselves.
- Competent authority of ICMR-NJIL&OMD, Agra reserves rights to consider or reject any application/candidature.
- Submission of wrong or false information during the process of selection shall disqualify the candidature at any stage.
- The persons engaged on Project Human Resource Positions shall not have any claim on a regular post in ICMR or in any of its Institutes/Centers or in any Department of Government of India and their project term with breaks or without breaks in any or multiple projects will not confer any right for further assignment or transfer to any other project or appointment / absorption / regularization of service in funding agency or in ICMR. Benefits of Provident Fund, Pension Scheme, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim, Staff Quarters and other facilities applicable to the regular staff of ICMR etc. are Not admissible to the project human resource positions.
- Competent Authority of ICMR-NJIL&OMD, Agra Reserves the right to terminate the project human resource position even during the agreed contract period or extended contract period without assigning any reason.
- Leave shall be as per the ICMR’s policy for project human resource positions.
- Candidate must submit his/her duly filled-in application form in the prescribed format with a recent passport-size colour photograph along with a detailed Bio-data/C.V. and all relevant documents; duly self-attested; in proof of his/her educational qualifications [all certificates and mark sheets from 10th Std. onwards], working experience, age, caste and photo id [Aadhar Card/Indian Passport/PAN Card/Driving License] etc., within the scheduled date and time for submission of the application, failing which his/her candidature will not be considered. Late/Delayed/Incomplete/Unsigned applications will not be considered at all and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
