This role contributes to Starbucks success by adapting/creating and developing new beverages for retail stores that support the successful execution of company initiatives. By setting the pace for customer-centric beverages development, bringing ideas to life, and creating Starbucks beverage experience to delight our customers, partners and each other.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Gathers, analyzes, and maintains product and technology trend information; and conducts idea generation sessions to initiate creation of new beverage concepts and products.
- Leads the beverage pipeline development work for limited time offerings and local core developed beverages.
- Organizes sensory tasting sessions for new beverage concepts, and core optimized ingredients validation.
- Collaborates with internal and external strategic business partners to develop customer-centric beverage innovation to support growth; collaborates closely with regional beverage teams for beverage concept/product tests and implementation.
- Create processing and product specifications (maintains project file, develops technical manuals and documentation).
- Establishes key technical performance indicators and measures to ensure progress to implementation consistent with project timelines.
- Identifies key technical hurdles and deliverables to ensure success.
- Collaborates closely with other cross-functional teams – Product & Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations and Quality Assurance team, etc.
- Closely connects with regional cross-functional team – to scale regional beverage pipeline.
Summary of Work Experience
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience in beverage/product development (preferably with coffee/tea beverages related experience, or prior work experience in multi-national, QSR chains.
- B.Sc. in Food Science / Food Technology; or Hotel Management degree.
