Applications are invited for Project Associate – I to work in the sponsored project entitled “Process development for microbial Synthesis of Xylitol Production using hemicellulose waste of cotton stalk” for a duration of two years and for project Assistant to work in the sponsored project entitled “Process development for bioremediation of industrial wastewater from steel industry using microalgae and its effective utilization of microalgal biomass Production at a scale of 50 Kg biomass production at Jindal Steel Power Plant, Angul, Odisha” for a duration of one year.

(A) No. of post for Project Associate – I: (1 post) (Sponsored Project).

Essential qualifications for Project Associate – I:

M.Sc. Degree in Microbiology.

Monthly Emoluments for Project Associate – I: 

(i) Rs. 31000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE OR (b) A selection process through National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Department and their Agencies and Institutions. 

(ii) Rs. 25000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Desirable: Candidates having experience in the area of microbiology would

be preferred. The selected candidate will have to work on the project entitled ‘Process development for microbial Synthesis of Xylitol Production using hemicellulose waste of cotton stalk’. The candidate would be expected to work in the area of upstream and downstream processing, process development and demonstration of the above processes.

Job Requirement: Competency in upstream and downstream process will be preferred.

(B) No. of post for Project Assistant: (1 post) (Sponsored Project).

Position: Project Assistant (1 Post)

Essential qualifications for Project Assistant:

Monthly Emoluments for Project Assistant: Rs. 20000/- (consolidated).

Desirable: Candidates having experience in the area of Microalgal Cultivation or Valorisation of Microalgal Biomass would be preferred. The selected candidate will have to work on the project entitled “Process development for bioremediation of industrial wastewater from steel industry using microalgae and its effective utilization of microalgal biomass Production at a scale of 50 Kg biomass production at Jindal Steel Power Plant, Angul, Odisha” for a period of one year and would be deputed to Jindal Steel and Power Plant, Angul, Odisha as and when required. The candidate would be expected to work in the area of microalgal cultivation, process development and demonstration of the above processes.

Job Requirement: Competency in microalgal cultivation and valorization of microalgal biomass.

Age: (As on the last date of receipt of applications through e-mail, i.e. 12/02/2024), maximum 35 years for Project Associate – I and 50 years for Project Assistant. Age relaxation is applicable as per CSIR rules.

Duration: This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
