Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre invites applications from the interested deserving candidate for the post of PS III (01), DM (01), RA (04), and JRF (03) positions in the below-mentioned research projects. For details of the projects post, essential qualification, and fellowship is given below:

Post I

Name of the Post – Project Scientist III

Name of the project – Translational Applications for Therapeutics from Veterinary and
Allied Microbials (TATVAM)

Project Code – GBRC/GOIDBT/TATVAM/2022

Fellowship – Rs. 78,000/- + 16% HRA

Desired Qualifications –

1. Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Biological sciences/ Bioinformatics/ Life Sciences /Molecular Biology equivalent Degree or M.V.Sc/M.Tech Degree in Biotechnology/ Biological sciences/ Bioinformatics/ Life Sciences /Molecular Biology/ Science/ Engineering or Technology
   AND
2. Minimum seven years of experience in research and development and scientific activities and services.

Experience – Should have experience in handling research projects and management and good Publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Post II

Name of the Post – RA

Name of the project – Translational Applications for Therapeutics from Veterinary and

Fellowship –  Fellowship will be

• RA I: Rs. 47,000/- +16% HRA
• RA II: Rs. 49,000/- + 16% HRA
• RA III: Rs. 54,000/- + 16% HRA 

Desired Qualifications –

1. Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Bio-informatics/ /Biochemistry/ Life science or equivalent Degree
   OR
2. Having 3 years of research design and development experience after M.V.Sc/ M.Tech in Biotechnology/ Bio-informatics/ /Biochemistry/ Life science with at least 1 research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.

Experience – In addition to the above, the candidates should have knowledge in cloning and expression of proteins, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis, bioinformatics, etc.

Name of the project – Networking Program on Antimicrobial Resistance, Superbugs and One Health (AMR)

Fellowship –

For Research Associate having qualification as mentioned at No 1, 2 Fellowship will be

• RA I: Rs. 47,000/- +16% HRA
• RA II: Rs. 49,000/- + 16% HRA
• RA III: Rs. 54,000/- + 16% HRA 

For Research Associate having qualification as mentioned at No 3. Fellowship will be

• RA I: Rs. 37,845/-
• RA II: Rs. 38,670/-
• RA III: Rs. 41,850/- (Not entitled for HRA)

Desired Qualifications –

1. Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Biological sciences/ Bioinformatics/ Life Sciences /Molecular Biology equivalent Degree.
   OR
2. Having 3 years of research design and development experience after M. Tech in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics / Microbiology/ Molecular Biology with at least 1 research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.

For Research Associate having qualification as mentioned at No 1, 2 Fellowship will be

• RA I: Rs. 47,000/- +16% HRA

For Research Associate having qualification as mentioned at No 3. Fellowship will be

1. Ph.D. in Biotechnology/ Bio-informatics/ /Biochemistry/ Human Genetics/ Medical Biotechnology/Cancer Biology or equivalent Degree.

   Biotechnology/Cancer Biology with at least 1 research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.
   OR
3. M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Bio-informatics/ /Biochemistry/ Human Genetics/ Medical Biotechnology/Cancer Biology with 3 years of research design and development and experience with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.

Experience – Candidates have research experience in cell culture/cell selex system, aptamer designing, NGS data analysis, and having an interest in single-cell genomics with good research publication as evidence will be preferred.

1. Post Graduate in Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences with NET qualification or Graduate Degree in the professional course in the above subjects with NET qualifications

Terms and Conditions

• The above posts are purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for an initial period of 11 months, which may be extended after the satisfactory performance of the incumbent till the termination of the project.
• There is no provision for re-engagement after the termination of the project.
• The selected candidate shall not claim for a regular appointment, as the fellowship is a co-terminus with the project.
• The maximum age on the last day of the application as per the advertisement of the applicant is 45 years for PS III/ DM, 40 years for RA and 35 years for JRF.
• No TA /DA will be paid for attending the interview.
